The Canada-Germany Energy Partnership
The Canada-Germany Energy Partnership was established by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) in March 2021. Its Steering Committee, which is currently co-chaired by Michael Vandergrift (NRCan) and State Secretary Udo Philipp (BMWK), sets the strategic direction of the Energy Partnership and establishes its thematic direction an Energy Partnership activities.
The Steering Committee met for the fourth time in September 2024 and endorsed the 2024/2025 Action Plan focusing on bilateral cooperation on Clean Energy and Technology, the advancement of the Canada-Germany Hydrogen Alliance, as well as joint efforts under the theme of Mineral Security for Energy Transition and Climate in bilateral and multilateral settings.
